Sheldon Brown, the beloved American bicycle guru, loving husband and father, passes away at age 63 of an apparent heart attack.
I never met Sheldon, but I tried to line up an interview with him for DCP a while back. We never got around to doing the certain issue I wanted to do unfortunately. I owe a lot of gratitude to him for his fine service to the bicycling community. He was also savvy at HTML! Did some great podcast's also. RIP.
The global bicycle community has lost a great person today. Sheldon Brown was considered by many as the "guru" of bicycle maintenance, repair, conversions and myth-busting. He was especially absorbed by his loyal fans for his intricate knowledge and love of single-speed or fixed gear cycling, a.k.a. Fixies. Sheldon's website, SheldonBrown.com is the one-stop portal for bicycle enthusiasts and anyone who ever had a bicycle question unanswered. His website thoroughly covers a meticulous array of information, from his vast knowledge of cycling over the course of his life. He worked for Harris Cyclery in Newton, MA.
