I've never been one to personally adopt catch phrases or trends (outside of my everyday work-life), so I'm getting a little turned off by this "Web 2.0" motive. Is this really a new concept? Or has it now simply been solidified for open discussion?
For the geeks in the know, it's fairly simple: the inception of the "Social" strategies and community-oriented concepts have been the preferred underground norm much before the media wave hit the mainstream. By no way has it been a popularity contest ...until now. As with anything, it's interesting to be a part of and to witness the evolution of change and a society where adaptability has become so instant. The rapid advancement of tech-growth is happening at the speed of light, and there's a saturation effect that will soon catch up to us all.
But as with everything, there's a market-buzz that helps for IT conversations and overall contentment. So for myself, towards 2007 I think I'll apply some of the really cool new tech advances for the Web, but probably keep things as clean as possible at the same time -- without falling into the blackhole of trend-spotting. And since this isn't a technical "Blog," I won't expand with a cynical opinion further, we'll just see what evolves. Kinda like "Going Green." Know what I mean?
