Android - new development of an open-source mobile society?

Android, Inc. a Silicon Valley mobile technology start-up has been acquired by Google, Inc. late this quarter. Well before Apple's intro into the mobile arena, rumors have flooded nerd boards about a Google, "G-Phone." While most consumers won't jump to toss their Blackberry's or iPhone's -- Developers are becoming nutso about the Open Source SDK.
If you don't already know, the Open Handset Alliance is a consortium of over 30 mobile technology companies, streaming an innovative collab towards affordable and marketable cellular devices. These companies came together to develop, Android.
