Wear your helmets! I can't stress enough how important safety is if you're an inexperienced rider in the city. No need to showboat around like a clown. No need to battle the cabbies or busses. Aw who am I kidding? I don't wear one, but I should. Last winter I slipped on an ice patch because the cyclist in front of me was going to slow. I timed the patch but then didn't see an out before it was too late. Knew I couldn't break, so I'd have to steer around the slowpoke. My bad was that I thought I could maneuver quickly enough to no break on the ice. Didn't happen. So I took a spill and bumped my big head. Knocked some sense into me. Left a bruise for about a week is all. You can't fight the good fight if something tragic happens. The saga continues. Wear your helmet.
