When oh when will the new iPhone update be released? Mid-July is what I hear. As the unbricking continues, so will the fury of custom-built apps. It's gonna be mad like: Web 2.0; Gradient Vector; Glossy; Dayglow; Carousel; Collage; Catch Phrase; Flash; Social Networking; Blogs; Bracelets. Get on board, chop chop giddyup! Leave Feedback |

July undoubtedly is my favorite month of the year. Not because of our nation's independence. Not because it can reach 100+ in the swamps of DC. Not because Alice Cooper sings a great song. Nope. Nope. I love July because it's my BIRTHDAY month! Besides that -- I always try to brainstorm new ideas all throughout July. Hence, the TRUE reason why I'm typing this. My website is in dire need of a machete and some stitching. I know, busy dilemma. But while I plan for new business and have positive goals for the future, this site needs an enema. Done. August 2008. Leave Feedback |

MooTools just release a new version. If you're a fan, you best to check it out and cut it up....
From the MooTools website: "I speak for everyone the MooTools team when I tell you that we are extremely happy to announce the official release of MooTools 1.2. After a year of development and six months in beta, you might call us perfectionists. But now we’re finally ready to call the 1.2 release complete and stable. For those of you who have been waiting to make the switch, now would be the perfect time. Not only has the API been completely revamped, but there have been several significant changes to the site and the way the MooTools community interacts." Leave Feedback |

Man, I dunno the last time I hit some IRC. Not in 2K I know that. Back in the day of some Q3A marathons, it served me well. ICQ was fun. I even remember my old #: 76767477. Cooloquy is a pretty d0pe app that runs native on Macs and now on iPhone. If you're geek enough, check it out...
From the Colloquy website: "Colloquy for iPhone and iPod touch takes the 20 year old IRC protocol to the next
level of mobility — always at your finger tips."
- Connects to your Mac so have access to everything Colloquy is connected to.
- Even if your WiFi or EDGE network drops, you will get all the messages once the network comes back.
- Use all your favorite Colloquy scripts from your phone using the same IRC commands.
- Specially designed interface to match the iPhone and iPod touch with landscape support.

Apple, Inc. released the much anticipated Software Development Kit for the iPhone today. It is available as a free download from Apple's Developer Connection and will be included in the next iPhone 2.0 update.
Seemingly, Apple is attempting to take a stab at the Enterprise market by announcing full integration with Microsoft Exchange. This is a giant leap for Apple's mobile, however skeptics are still unsure about security when working in Enterprise environments. Leave Feedback |

Sheldon Brown, the beloved American bicycle guru, loving husband and father, passes away at age 63 of an apparent heart attack.
I never met Sheldon, but I tried to line up an interview with him for DCP a while back. We never got around to doing the certain issue I wanted to do unfortunately. I owe a lot of gratitude to him for his fine service to the bicycling community. He was also savvy at HTML! Did some great podcast's also. RIP. Leave Feedback |

Setting up a RAID 10 scheme in Mac OS X Leopard on a PPC G4 |

I'm about to build a RAID scheme in Leopard. Initially, I thought about RAID 5, but since it's currently not supported without hardware, I'm leaning towards either RAID 0 or RAID 10. If I decided to go RAID 0, I'll stripe 4x300 GB HDD's and implement a good backup system over Ethernet. I haven't installed Leopard yet, so I'm extremely curious to see how Time Machine performs. But if I go RAID 10 (1+0), I'll be able to pair 2 redundant mirror's and then back everything up across the network.

Android, Inc. a Silicon Valley mobile technology start-up has been acquired by Google, Inc. late this quarter. Well before Apple's intro into the mobile arena, rumors have flooded nerd boards about a Google, "G-Phone." While most consumers won't jump to toss their Blackberry's or iPhone's -- Developers are becoming nutso about the Open Source SDK. Leave Feedback |

Yeah, I know -- sounds weak. I generally wouldn't think about compressing FLAC files, but if you need to get them to iTunes for some reason ...go ahead and convert them to .AIFF with xACT 1.62. xACT is a GUI app that uses Unix's Shorten, shntool , Monkey's Audio Compressor, FLAC, WAVpack and CDDA2Wav. One trick I like to do is convert alternative versions. I'll add "(AAC)" or "(AIFF)" to my album and file ID's. If you only use a Phonegraph or R2R -- this apps not for you. Leave Feedback |

I'm going back to this design - because I never had a good opportunity to expand on it and watch it grow. This layout is circa 2001 and I still think it holds up - or else I'd probably just toss it in the archives. Leave Feedback |

Just got back from 2 nights and 3 days in Vegas. It was my first time there and not my last. Still don't know how I feel about the town, I think it needs to soak in a little more. Either that, or I just need to go back again, and again, and again... Reader Feedback (1) |

I've never been one to personally adopt catch phrases or trends (outside of my everyday work-life), so I'm getting a little turned off by this "Web 2.0" motive. Is this really a new concept? Or has it now simply been solidified for open discussion? Leave Feedback |
